How do i do know if I qualify for this position? i buy this question from my clients on a day to day . Having an excellent resume won’t assist you if you’re not applying for positions that set you up for an interview.

Job seekers get frustrated in there search because they do not know what to seem for.

Too many professionals read job postings, but do not know what the hiring manager is actually seeking during a candidate. repeatedly the work seeker doesn’t receive the response they need from hiring managers because they lack the knowledge, skills, education, or experience.

Before you apply for an additional position, you would like to ask yourself the subsequent questions:

  1. Do I even have the experience that this position requires? – Job postings will have the minimum years of experience the candidate must have. If the employer asks for five years of experience and you’re a recent college grad, or have 3 years of experience, then you’ll not meet the wants of that specific job, and you’ll waste of some time and energy to applying for the role.
  2. Do I even have the education or training the position is asking the candidate to possess ? – the work description will indicate the education level the corporate would really like you to have (i.e. highschool diploma, some college, bachelors’ degree). If you probably did not graduate from a university or college and this is often the minimum requirement, then your chances of getting an interview are slim to none.
  3. Are you qualified? – Job postings will have the specified qualifications which will be considered for the position. Some postings will list 3 or 4 required skills while others may list 10+. Read this section carefully. This area of the posting will provide keywords to incorporate in your resume, and can also provide you with the list of responsibilities that you simply are going to be expected to finish if you’re hired. Your resume should highlight achievements in most of those areas. If not, then the hiring manager won’t consider you the proper candidate for that role.

Accurately reading a job description is imperative. If you don’t then you won’t get an interview. Don’t waste your time applying to positions when your skills, education, and/or experience do not meet what the posting is asking candidates to have.
